Getting started
Do I have to use QuickBooks Online?
No. I work in QuickBooks Online, QuickBooks Enterprise and other systems. If you’re starting from nothing, I’ll recommend what fits your business and set it up.
My books are a mess. Can you still help?
Yes. Cleanups are a big part of what I do. I start with a review so we both know what we’re working with before any work begins.
What do you need from me to get started?
Access to your accounting software if you have it, your recent bank and credit card statements, and a little time to answer questions about how your business runs.
How much does it cost?
It depends on how many accounts you have, how busy they are, and how far behind things are. After a short call and a look at your books, I’ll give you a clear quote. I charge flat rates, not by the hour. You’ll know the cost before I start.
Working together
Do you prepare tax returns?
No. I keep your books accurate all year and put together a year end package for your CPA. Your CPA prepares and files your returns.
Will you talk to my CPA?
Yes, and I’m glad to. It saves you from passing messages back and forth and gets your CPA what they need faster.
Do we need to meet in person?
No. Most of the work happens online in your accounting software, with calls and email in between. I’m based in Orange County if you’d like to sit down face to face. For convenience, we can set up online meetings to further discuss your bookkeeping needs.
How long does a cleanup take?
That depends on how far behind the books are and how many accounts are involved. After the review, I’ll give you a timeline along with the quote.
Who oversees my books?
I do. Accounts Done Right is owner led, and I personally oversee every client’s books so you always have experienced eyes on your numbers.
